Committed Workshare Program
Cohort 3, Fall '17:
We are currently accepting applications for our third cohort of workshare members! The Fall season will run from September 6th- November 17th. Workshare members are asked to work one 3 hour shift a week through the season. Tasks will include (but not limited to): planting, harvesting, weeding, as well as light construction and aquaponics system maintenance. Shift options are 8am-11am Wednesday or Friday.
In exchange, volunteers receive:
- A vegetable share at every work shift
- The opportunity to learn about sustainable agriculture and aquaponic growing methods
- A meaningful volunteer experience and engagement with the local farming community
We are looking for:
Reliable and motivated members with a sincere interest in learning about sustainable agriculture and aquaponic growing methods. Members must have the ability to work outside in varied conditions and lift at least 30lbs. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently are crucial. Previous farm experience is not needed - we will train you on everything you need to know.
If you are interested in applying, please reach out to our volunteer and workshare coordinator, Jess Stevens at jess@aguadulceaustin.com . The deadline to apply for the Fall Cohort is September 4th. Please include your availability and why you are interested in volunteering with us!
Our Winter Cohort will start in late November, and we will begin accepting applications for that in early November. Sign up for our E-mail List or email us if you're interested.
